Its strategic location made it a key interchange in the 19th century, and it continues to serve passengers today. Managed by Northern, the station is being upgraded to improve capacity and reliability.

Benefits for Church Fenton

  • Tracks will undergo overhead electrification, which will result in greener, quieter, and cleaner rail services also improving air quality and reducing our carbon footprint.

  • Enhancing track alignment and lengthening platforms will increase train capacity for Leeds and York, providing more frequent service and shorter wait times for customers.

  • Station improvements will include better seating, upgraded customer information systems, and station refurbishment, all aimed at enhancing the customer experience during disruptions on the wider TRU route.

  • Rose Lane, Poulters, and Adamsons level crossings will be undergoing works and we are building new bridges that will improve safety and reduce travel times.
