Huddersfield

A jewel in the crown of Yorkshire’s railway heritage, Huddersfield station is one of the most architecturally impressive stations in the UK. Opened in 1850, its grand façade and historical significance make it a landmark in the town. Managed by TransPennine Express, the station is undergoing a major transformation to support the future of rail travel while preserving its iconic features.

Huddersfield Station reopens following 30-day closure with some changes to services

Following a 30-day closure for extensive upgrade works, Huddersfield station has reopened (29 September) and will operate until early 2027 with three newly rebuilt and extended platforms.

The station will operate until early 2027 with platforms 1, 2 and 3 only, while construction continues to the other platforms, roof canopy and track.

Some services will be affected during this phase of work. Stations including Cottingley, Morley, Batley, Ravensthorpe, Brighouse, Halifax, Low Moor and Bradford Interchange won’t have direct trains to Huddersfield.
