Level Crossings on TRU

What do we do with level crossings?

There are several level crossings along the TransPennine mainline, and in line with Network Rail’s commitment to making a safer railway, a number of these are due to be closed.

How do we go about closing a level crossing?

On TRU, if the decision has been taken to close a level crossing, then there are a number of steps we will take. These include initial conversations with residents who may be affected, and public consultations to understand how the closing of a crossing would impact them. Where possible, we will then work to deliver an alternative means for people to cross the railway safely.

The level crossings due to be closed as part of TRU are:

Barrowby Lane and Barrowby Foot

Copmanthorpe

Lady Anne

Peckfield

Rose Lane

  • Barrowby Lane Level Crossing
  • Barrowby Foot Level Crossing
  • Copmanthorpe Level Crossing, York
  • Lady Anne Level Crossing, Batley
  • Peckfield Level Crossing
  • Rose Lane Level Crossing, Church Fenton
